Begin with a scenic drive to Lekuresi Castle, built in 1537 by Sultan Suleiman the Magnificent. Perched above Sarandë, the castle offers panoramic views of Corfu and the Ksamil islands, making it one of southern Albania’s most iconic viewpoints.
Continue to the Mesopotamian Monastery, a 12th-century fortified Byzantine church currently under restoration. While the interior is closed, you’ll have time to admire and photograph its historic exterior.
Pause at a local Restaurant to enjoy a traditional Albanian snack, then begin the return journey with a panoramic drive around Sarandë, passing coastal viewpoints and key landmarks. This includes a drive-by overview of ancient Onchesmos, a former Illyrian port with visible ruins of dwellings, cisterns, and a basilica. No site visit is included.
The tour concludes back at the port.
