Despite its modest size, Slovenia offers remarkable natural diversity. Between the Alps and the Adriatic lies the Slovenian Karst, a dramatic limestone landscape shaped by water over millions of years.
A scenic journey of about one hour leads from Koper to Postojna Cave, one of Europe’s most impressive underground wonders. An electric train carries you deep into the cave system, followed by a guided walk along well maintained pathways through vast halls adorned with extraordinary stalactite and stalagmite formations. Highlights include the Gothic Hall and the historic Conference Hall, once a grand ballroom and concert venue.
Conclude with a photo stop at Predjama Castle, a striking medieval fortress built into a towering cliff and once home to the legendary knight Erazem of Predjama. After the visit, return comfortably back to the pier.
