Post-Cruise: Angkor Wat Overland Journey (Bangkok to Siem Reap)
As your cruise adventure comes to an end in Bangkok, a new journey begins—one that takes you from the bustling capital of Thailand to the awe-inspiring temples of Angkor Wat. Step off the ship and onto your next great adventure, immersing yourself in the timeless wonders of Cambodia.
Day 1: Bangkok to Siem Reap & Sunset Cruise Experience
Your adventure begins with a smooth transition, as we take care of all the logistics, including your Cambodian visa. All we need is a clear copy of your passport, which you can send via email after booking. Remember, your passport should be valid for at least six months with two blank pages for the visa stamps. Once that’s sorted, you can sit back and relax knowing everything is in good hands.
After disembarking from your cruise ship, our local tour guide will meet you at the cruise port with a designated sign, and we’ll whisk you away to the airport for your short flight to Siem Reap. Once you arrive, you’ll be greeted by a private tour guide who will be holding a personalized sign with your name for easy identification. Your private tour guide will assist you with luggage and lead you to your transport, where you’ll head to the Tara Angkor Hotel (or a similar accommodation) to check in, enjoy a light lunch, and rest up for the exciting adventures ahead.
Later in the afternoon, it’s time to embark on a luxurious sunset boat cruise along the Angkor Thom moat. As the boat glides through the ancient waterways, flanked by ruins and lush jungle, you’ll be treated to canapés and a glass of champagne—a truly serene way to take in the beauty of the surrounding temples. As the sun sets, you’ll soak in the peaceful atmosphere before returning to your hotel for a night of rest.
The evening ends with a traditional Khmer dinner at a local restaurant, where the flavors of Cambodia will dance on your taste buds, setting the stage for tomorrow’s exploration of Angkor Wat.
Day 2: Sunrise at Angkor Wat & Temple Exploration & Evening Apsara Dance Show
(Breakfast Box, Lunch & Dinner Included)
Wake up early for an unforgettable experience—witnessing the sunrise over Angkor Wat, one of the world’s most iconic and breathtaking temples. As the first light of day casts a golden glow over the ancient stone carvings, take in the serene and mystical atmosphere, a moment that will stay with you forever. (A breakfast box will be provided during the tour.)
After capturing stunning photos and embracing the temple’s spiritual essence, you will visit the South Gate of Angkor Thom, the grand entrance to the last great capital of the Khmer Empire. Admire the impressive stone-carved faces and towering gate, flanked by rows of statues depicting gods and demons locked in a mythical tug-of-war. Next, explore the iconic Bayon Temple, known for its mesmerizing stone-carved faces and intricate bas-reliefs depicting historical battles, daily life, and legendary tales of the Khmer Empire.
Later, embark on an adventure to the enchanting Ta Prohm Temple, a site made famous by its overgrown tree roots and mysterious ruins. Unlike any other temple in Angkor, Ta Prohm offers a unique, almost cinematic experience, where nature and history intertwine beautifully. It is also the location of many scenes filmed for the blockbuster movie Tomb Raider.
After this captivating exploration, enjoy a delicious lunch at a local restaurant. Following lunch, you will visit the Banteay Srei Temple, famously known as the “Jewel of Khmer Art.” This beautifully preserved pink sandstone temple is celebrated for its intricate and delicate carvings, making it a must-visit gem of the Angkor region. After your visit, return to your hotel to freshen up.
In the evening, enjoy a traditional Apsara Dance Show at a beautiful venue. Savor a delicious dinner while watching this mesmerizing Cambodian cultural performance, offering a memorable finale to a day of exploration and marvel.
