Mon Repos Palace & Corfu Old Town

Journey through the lush Corfiot countryside, passing fragrant groves of orange, lemon, cypress, and olive trees, en route to Kanoni, one of the island’s most iconic and photographed viewpoints.

Your first stop is the elegant Mon Repos Palace, built in 1828 as the summer residence of Sir Frederic Adam, the second British High Commissioner of the Ionian Islands. This neoclassical estate holds deep royal significance—King George II was born here in 1869, and Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh, was born and baptized here in 1921. Over the years, the palace hosted distinguished guests including Tito of Yugoslavia, Haile Selassie of Ethiopia, and Nasser of Egypt.

Continue to Corfu Old Town, where your coach drops you at Esplanade Square, the largest and most elegant square in Greece. Embark on a guided walking tour through the historic district’s Kantounia—narrow cobblestone lanes lined with Venetian architecture. Stroll beneath the arcades of Liston Piazza, once the royal stables, and admire the Church of Saint Spyridon, home to priceless icons of Corfu’s patron saint. After the tour, enjoy free time to browse local shops before returning to the port.
