Knossos Palace & Minoan Legends
Step into the heart of Minoan history with a guided tour to the legendary Palace of Knossos, once the religious and administrative center of ancient Crete. Departing from Agios Nikolaos, you’ll journey across the island to Heraklion, home to one of the most iconic archaeological sites in Greece.
At Knossos, explore the myth-shrouded labyrinth said to have housed the fearsome Minotaur, born of a mythical union between Queen Pasiphaë and a bull. According to legend, King Minos fed his enemies to the creature until the labyrinth’s secrets were finally revealed. Your expert guide will lead you through the excavated and partially restored palace, offering insight into its complex layout and ceremonial significance.
Discover the royal living quarters, storerooms, pottery workshops, and the ancient theater, each revealing layers of Minoan life and architecture. After the palace visit, enjoy a short stop at Heraklion’s central square, where you can take in the local atmosphere before returning to the pier.
