Gallipoli Memorials
Cross the Dardanelles into history as you journey to the Gallipoli Peninsula, site of one of the most defining campaigns of World War I. Begin your day by crossing the Çanakkale Bridge (1915)—the world’s longest suspension bridge—connecting Asia and Europe with a striking blend of engineering and elegance.
Your destination is Gelibolu Historic National Park, a solemn and scenic memorial honoring the 500,000 soldiers who lost their lives during the Gallipoli campaign. The peninsula is now a protected site, marked by monuments, cemeteries, and the dramatic Arıburnu Cliffs.
Start at the Cape Helles sector, where French and British troops first landed, and gain insight into the strategic importance of this southern front. Enjoy a traditional Turkish lunch before continuing to the ANZAC Sector, dedicated to the Australian and New Zealand forces who fought and fell here.
Visit key sites including Brighton Beach, Seddülbahir, the English Memorial, the Turkish Memorial, Beach Cemetery, and Ari Burnu Cemetery. At the Lone Pine Australian Memorial, take part in a wreath-laying ceremony to honor the fallen. On your return, pass Johnston’s Jolly and the French Memorial, reflecting on the shared sacrifices that shaped this historic battleground.
Return to the port with a deeper understanding of Gallipoli’s legacy, where remembrance and landscape converge.
