Flavors of the Dalmatian Coast

Savor the authentic flavors of the Dalmatian Coast on a culinary and cultural journey through Croatia’s coastal gems — from traditional olive oil to freshly harvested oysters and mussels.

Begin with a scenic coach ride along the Adriatic coastline to the village of Orasac, where olive oil is still produced using a traditional horse-powered press. Step inside a historic stone house, unchanged for generations, and enjoy a tasting of homemade olive oil, accompanied by local cheese, smoked ham, and wine.

Continue to the fortified town of Ston, often referred to as the “little Dubrovnik” for its impressive medieval walls — among the longest defensive walls in Europe, dating back to 1317. This charming town is also known as the oyster capital of Croatia.

From nearby Mali Ston, board a local boat and cruise to the region’s oyster and mussel beds. Your host will introduce you to the area’s aquaculture traditions as you sample freshly harvested shellfish, served straight from the sea.

Back on shore, enjoy a seafood lunch at the renowned Kapetanova Kuca Tavern, featuring regional specialties such as seafood risotto or seafood pasta, prepared with the day’s catch.

After lunch, return to Dubrovnik, where you may choose to explore the Old Town at your leisure or return directly to the pier.
