Bodrum Castle & Turkish Village Experience

A short drive from the port takes you to the impressive Castle of Bodrum, a landmark steeped in history. Constructed by the Knights of Rhodes, the castle required a substantial amount of stone, which was sourced from the ruins of the renowned Mausoleum of Halicarnassus, one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World.

Next, visit the Sunken Boat Museum, showcasing an extraordinary collection of underwater artifacts. These treasures span from the Bronze Age to the Middle Ages, providing a glimpse into centuries of maritime history.

The journey continues to Etrim Village, a charming mountain settlement founded during the Ottoman era. This village offers a unique window into nomadic traditions, where animal breeding, farming, and carpet weaving remain the primary livelihoods. Explore the mosque and tea house, visit the villagers’ homes, and observe the intricate carpet weaving process step by step. Conclude your visit with a warm, traditional welcome, tasting homemade Turkish pancakes and other delightful offerings.
