Ossios Loucas & Arachova Village
Departing from Itea, enjoy a scenic drive through the village of Distomo en route to the Monastery of Ossios Loucas, one of Greece’s most revered Byzantine religious sites. Founded in the 10th century and named after a local hermit, the monastery is famed for its mosaics, sculptures, and spiritual legacy. According to legend, Loucas foresaw Emperor Romanos granting freedom to Crete, earning him deep respect and devotion.
Stroll through the serene grounds and admire the Byzantine artistry before continuing to Arachova, a charming mountain village nestled on the slopes of Mount Parnassus. Known for its stone houses and vibrant local culture, Arachova offers a perfect opportunity to walk, browse artisan shops, and sample regional products.
On your return to Itea, enjoy a scenic glimpse of the Delphi archaeological site, completing your cultural journey through central Greece.
