Dalyan, Caunos & Iztuzu Beach
Departing from Marmaris Port, your adventure begins with a scenic approximately 1,5 hour drive through the beautiful countryside toward Dalyan. Upon arrival, board your riverboat and set off on a peaceful cruise along the Dalyan River Delta, a labyrinth of calm waterways surrounded by tall reeds and stunning natural landscapes. Keep your camera ready—you may spot herons, turtles, and other wildlife along the way.
As you glide through the river, admire the mysterious Lycian Rock Tombs, carved high into the cliffs thousands of years ago. Continue to the ancient city of Caunos, once a prosperous Carian port, where you’ll explore impressive ruins such as the theater, Roman baths, and city walls that whisper stories from the past.
After the visit, enjoy a delicious riverside lunch at Local Restaurant, featuring fresh local dishes. Your meal includes one glass of wine or beer, or a soft drink, along with water, tea, and coffee.
The journey continues down the river to the famous Iztuzu Beach, also known as “Turtle Beach.” This unspoiled stretch of sand, where the river meets the Mediterranean, is a protected nesting site for the Caretta caretta sea turtles. Spend some relaxing time swimming or simply enjoying the peaceful atmosphere before returning to Marmaris.
Combining natural beauty, ancient history, and tranquil cruising, this tour offers a truly memorable day in one of Turkey’s most enchanting regions.
