Panoramic Drive Windmills, Gümüşlük & Amphitheatre
Embark on a scenic drive around the Bodrum Peninsula, offering breathtaking views and captivating landmarks. Your first stop is Gümbet Hill, home to charming old windmills and panoramic vistas that include a stunning view of Bodrum Harbor—and even your cruise ship anchored below.
After a short drive, visit the Myndos Gate, a historic site where Alexander the Great famously entered the ancient city of Halicarnassus in 334 BC. This ancient gateway stands as a testament to Bodrum’s rich past.
Continue to the picturesque village of Gümüşlük, a charming seaside retreat protected by strict building codes, ensuring its authentic fishing village character remains untouched. Known for its connection to ancient Myndos, this area is steeped in history. When the tide is low, you can even walk across to a nearby island, adding a unique touch to your experience.
Relax with light refreshments at a local restaurant, savoring the ambiance of the Bodrum coastline. Before returning to the ship, you’ll make a brief stop at the Bodrum Amphitheatre, a striking relic of ancient times and a fitting conclusion to your exploration.
