Bodrum Castle, Museum & Myndos Gate
A short drive from the port will take you to the imposing Castle of Bodrum, a remarkable structure steeped in history and offering stunning views of the surrounding area. Built by the Knights of Rhodes, this enduring fortress showcases their architectural ingenuity and the rich heritage of Bodrum.
Continue your journey at the Sunken Boat Museum, home to a captivating collection of artifacts recovered from the depths of the sea. These treasures span eras from the Bronze Age to the Middle Ages, including remnants of cargo from a 13th-century BC Syrian trade ship. While at the museum, don’t miss the Carian Princess exhibit, where you’ll admire a striking gold tiara that reflects the artistry of the era.
From the museum, a short drive brings you to the Myndos Gate, a historic landmark through which Alexander the Great entered the ancient city of Halicarnassus in 334 BC.
Conclude your exploration with refreshments at a fine local hotel, offering a spectacular view of Bodrum Bay, the perfect backdrop to reflect on your journey through time.
