Cu Chi Tunnels & Vietnam Countryside Discovery

Step beyond the typical tourist trail and uncover a powerful chapter of Vietnam’s history on this immersive half-day journey to the Cu Chi Tunnels. Known locally as the American War, this era left lasting impressions on the country. On this tour, you’ll experience the past through the eyes of the Vietnamese—raw, real, and deeply personal.

Our route winds through the peaceful southern countryside, where daily life moves at its own rhythm. You’ll catch glimpses of rural Vietnam: vibrant rice paddies, shaded rubber plantations, and traditional villages. One highlight includes a stop at a family home where rice paper—a culinary essential used in fresh spring rolls—is made by hand. Watch the delicate process that’s been passed down for generations.

Midway, we’ll pause for lunch at a riverside restaurant along the scenic banks of the Saigon River. It’s a chance to unwind and enjoy regional flavors with a view that contrasts sharply with the history you’re about to witness.

At Cu Chi, you’ll enter a world hidden beneath the surface. This vast network of underground tunnels, started in the late 1940s and expanded during the 1960s, once stretched over 120 miles. These narrow passageways—some no more than shoulder-width—served as living quarters, supply routes, and even field hospitals. Walking through the site, you’ll gain a profound appreciation for the ingenuity and determination of those who called this underground world home.

After this eye-opening experience, we’ll return to Saigon, leaving with a deeper understanding of Vietnam’s remarkable resilience and spirit.

Important Notes:

  • The Cu Chi narrative is told from a Vietnamese perspective—an opportunity to see history through local eyes.
  • The tunnels can be narrow and dusty; entering them is optional. You can also wander the upper fields and explore the surface-level exhibits at your own pace.
  • Bring a hat, sunglasses, and biodegradable sunscreenshade is limited.
  • Wear comfortable walking shoes and lightweight, long-sleeved clothing to stay cool and protected.
  • Total driving time is around two hours each way, but traffic can vary—thanks for your patience if things run a bit longer.
  • Cancellations must be made at least 5 days before the tour. Late cancellations may incur charges.
